  • The Body Shop funds a campaign to help eliminate Animal testing in products. This campaign is called Cruelty Free international.

 

  • Along with supporting the cruelty free international, The Body Shop also supports campaigns regarding social issues, and has been for thirty years. These issues include, ‘You are better than bullying’, “Positive changes and Stop sex trafficking”.

 

 

  • The Body Shop products are natural and have benefits for the skin, making it more radiant and healthier.

 

  • The Body Shop uses the ‘Community Fair trade’ system. This is great as the women all around the world. The Institute for Marketecology gives The Body Shop the finest ingredients and accessories, the company currently has more the 1,200 products and over 80% of them contain at least one Community fair Trade Ingredient.

 

 

  • The Body Shop had relationships with 25 producers in 21 countries, some of which have lasted nearly 25 years. 

Enviromental considerations/interconnections 

 

  • The Body Shop uses natural products, which is better for the environment as there is not as many chemicals being released into the natural environment.

 

  • The Body Shop has become international and are moving towards a hub-based distribution system. This is because it is not only more efficient, but it also helps reduce airfreight.

 

  • The Body shop also reduced their carbon footprint by shipping larger but less frequently, merging different types of orders to the same country.

 

  • Many of the products from The Body Shop aren’t packaged but those that are use recycled or sustainable products.

 

 

 

Economic considerations/interconnections 

 

 

  • In the last two years The Body Shop has spent $14.2 million on Fair Trade ingredients, gifts and accessories.

 

  • The Body Shop had relationships with 25 producers in 21 countries, some of which have lasted nearly 25 years.

 

  • The body shop MNC in the UK ships all over the world to the country bases which then send the products out around that country.

 

  • The body shop prefers to fly their products in large capacities rather than ship lots of products as it is cheaper and more environmentally friendly.
